  15. Could you please help me with the information I need for configuring 
  16. different types of modems.

  18. I need information on different brands of modems so I can configure a 
  19. software program to work properly with all types of modems.

  21. Could you please tell me;
  22. 1. the name and model modem you use.
  23. 2. whether the modem supports synchronous mode.
  24. 3. if the modem is a synchronous modem will it default to asynchronous 
  25. mode with an AT&F command.
  26. 4. if the modem defaults to synchronous mode what AT command is needed 
  27. to place it in asynchronous mode.
  28. 5. finally whatever type of modem you have, what is the recommended 
  29. initialization string to use with this modem.

  31. ps. I am having a difficult time with some modems because I do not want 
  32. them to talk in synchronous mode. It stuffs up my program when talking 
  33. to an asynchronous modem.

  35. Does anyone know roughly what percentage of synchronous modems are out 
  36. there in the market place.
